Rising air bubble in glycerol solution

Gravity-driven flow of an air bubble in sugar-syrup solution. The 3D equations were discretized using the ALE framework and the Finite Element Method. The numerical result was compared to the White and Beardmore flow pattern map (1962) and good agreement was found for the rising velocity. Bubble shape and liquid film thickness were successfully compared to the literature.
